“Vicksburg Civilian Conservation Corps Camp

Camp No. 1430
Location: Camp Woodpecker Nest, one mile north of Vicksburg, MS

Photo likely from 1937 CCC Yearbook

Below is a photo of the 1430 CCC Camp that was located  one mile north of Vicksburg, MS. The photo was generously shared by Betty Terrell Oakes whose father, Carlton Terrell, is in  the photo. There are two version below. The second is a larger version which gives more detail. The names have been typed in order to be searchable. A few of the names have been investigated, so far most are from MS, however surprisingly few from Warren County so far. Leake county is well represented. Hopefully children and grandchildren will discover their relative someday in the future.
