Alma Lee Hartley was born May, 1892 to George Leroy and Mary Elizabeth Varner Hartley in Flora, MS. Her siblings included, Lelia Mae, George Benjamin, Samuel Richard, Edward Lee, Margie Louise, James Russell, Marvin Ashley and Rudolf (still born). She married Henry Grady Matthews in 1910 in Flora. Henry was 21 and Alma was Henry was born in Jackson, Georgia in 1889. 18. Their children were Wilma Mynon, Henry Lee, Mary Lucile, Samuel Richard, Clifton, Margaret Elizabeth (Candy), Henry Grady (Sugar Boy), William Arthur (Tete) and Jean Frances. Henry died in 1937 at the age of 47. She married Jesse Griffin late in life. Alma Lee Hartley Matthews Griffin died December 21, 1954 in Marion County, Illinois and is buried in Mount Bluff Cemetery in Flora, Madison County, MS.
