Grandpa and Grandma Winter Make a Doll House

by Velma Winter

Robert Stuart Winter Sr., grandfather to Pat, Nancy, Robert and Sandra Winter, built  a doll house for the Winter children. The children spent summer vaction at their grandparents home for most of their childhood. Velma White Winter, their grandmother, decorated the interior of the house, curtains, spreads, rugs, etc. Grampa Winter had polio when he was in his teens and it left his left arm weaker than the right. Nonetheless, he became quite a good carpenter and woodworker as you can see by looking at the doll house. It is currently in possession of Pat Winter Oakes in Austin, Texas.
